Hey Guys, I just watched Con-Air.... And They ruined 2 Vettes in it... I have seen it before but never saw the second one... First they go out and ruin a Beautiful 67 vert!... Then at the end, the plane runs into a Early White C4 84-90..... Why couldnt they have just given them to me and I would have given them my beater buick to ruin! lol

haha.. I have seen that movie like 3 times before and never caught the white one they trashed...... I hope they were fake...... hahaha

I just watched that movie too. I also assumed both were fake. If you listen carefully, the hotel is paging "the owner of the white Corvette" to move the car, or it will be towed. :jester

im pretty sure there is a red c4 parked right out front of the lobby during the part when the white c4 gets trashed

Plus I think I saw a yellow C4 back and behind the white one too.....

I'll have to watch it again.. i have it on DVD. I forgot about the C4 in vegas. I have to admit, the way they destroyed that c2 vert was very creative.

There's a very good chance they were not fakes, but real cars that were trashed. My oldest son works in the movie industry, building and driving cars for stunts like this. He often gets an assignment to (for example) "find a good '67 Mustang fastback" or even "find four of 'em". He may drive to Arizona or New Mexico to buy a good one (and they buy GOOD ones, not junkers. Most times they will not tell the sellers who they are or what will become of the cars because the seller may refuse to sell). They'll gut it, strengthen it, do whatever is required for the particular stunt, then virtually destroy it in the process of filming. He says it kills him to see really nice cars used up this way, but that's just the business......just another small item on the expense report for the producers. Cars (even Corvettes) are just an expendible prop in a very expensive production and it's cheaper to trash a real one than to make up a fake one that will last long enough to do the job. Crashed aircraft are usually not real/functioning, crashed cars are. Cars are cheap.

The midyear was a kit car, the 84-87 (i didnt get a good look at the center of the rims, but i'm leaning towards 86-87) was real.

the 67 had a nice personalized plate..AZZ KICKR (or similiar)

I imagine the C4 was fake also. A model maybe?
I mean did the really land a plane on the "strip"??

A lot of that was computer generated, and model stuff.

I thought the picture , looking out the rear of the plane and seeing the 67 "flying" was cool, but looked computer genenerated.

At least they didnt kill the bunny :lolg: :lolg:

sure they were real. it costs millions of dollars to make a movie. those 2 cars were under 75k. they spent several times that on the planes they destroyed. the c4 is probably finished but the mid year is a great parts car or can be rebuilt. :blueangel:

We just saw xXx with Vin Diesel they wrecked a C5 Vert in that one! My wife and I both winced when he knocked off the passenger side mirror but when it went over the bridge... :eek: We checked out the special features and it looked like it was a real one!

Yeah Tripple x was hard to watch. i was hoping at the end it would say....no corvettes were harmed during the filming of this movie.

I dont believe they crashed that plane, as a matter of fact, I remember seeing a show that showed them making that crash scene.

The one where the plane hit the " Guitar". It was a large model on a string (to guide it)...That was fake.

The C-4 could have been real, assuming the had a full size "fusalage" to crash into it.

Ohhh..by the way... the dinosuars in Jarrasic Park... they werent real either.
