Any suggestions or people who have attempted this?

you spray that crap on them, your cleaning days are over

Probably doesn't even have that C4 any longer.

Clean them up with simple green, and a scratch pad to remove the grime, and tar. Apply a generous coat of "armour all", and wipe it off.

This.

I really like the dark red fuel rail covers. I was thinking of painting the "Corvette" lettering dark red on mine, but yours make me think about doing the whole piece. When you did them did you just sand them smooth and then paint, or primer and paint, etc.

Maybe an old thread but still a pain to keep them clean. I have found that scrubbing them with simple green or purple power gets the dirt off them, the I use Adam's VRT on them and apply with a foam applicator. They look good and it seems to last the best of anything I have tried.

Has anyone tried refinishing their wheel well liners?
Funny you should ask...

Today I pulled both of mine from the '88 to bring inside so I could try to find a suitable cleaner and finish.

Luck was smiling as the 1st try was 409 and it did a great cleaning job. Though I still had to use some thumb-nail to dislodge some tar specs.

Then I had some Turtle F21 so tried it and they look nearly like new.

Of course now I need spend some long days on the entire under-clam so that it all shines...

I used Adam's undercarriage spray for the first time this weekend. Cleaned the wheel wells first with Simple Green and a scrub brush then just sprayed with the Undercarriage Spray when dry. Looks good. Of course they didn't make it 14 years ago so my response is of little value to the OP
