Did you have good results painting steering wheel?
Good Morning,
I have dried mild / shallow craking on my steering wheel and the options are replace or repair. Have you had success making your tired old steering wheel leather look better ? How old is your repair ? Anyone use a reconditioning balm ?
Thanks
Donny

Try some shoe dye, leather shoe conditioner and black shoe polish. I did this on mine, worked great. Can do in car, be careful! I used a garbage bag to shield everything. Not bad to just remove the steering wheel and do it at the work bench.
Forgot to take a before pic, this was a couple years earlier:
And after:
Good idea to condition the seats too!

Thanks all very much. I tried 400 grit sand paper and was suprised how well it smoothed the leather. I will be recieving black leather balm (re-thinking about using balm though) in the next few days and will do it in car.
Nice looking job on that wheel.......... "Try some shoe dye, leather shoe conditioner and black shoe polish".
UPDATE: I used Angelus leather dye.
I take it that you used all 3 and that was the order ? Dye - conditioner - polish ?? Does any come off on your hands while driving ??
thanks everyone for the help.

Saved enough on this I am going for the Rikon Raptors. Thanks all for the help. And to sum it up, this rehab is good enough I am not getting a new steering wheel.
