gears for my 1994 LT1 Coupe
What is a good price for new gears for my 94 LT1 Coupe, including installation.
In addition, what ratio do you all recommend considering it is a daily driver?
About a 20-min commute to work everyday.

If it's a six speed you can pull 4.10 gears for normal driving. 4.10s are too steep for an automatic. If you are interested in high speed driving school and maybe Driving events, then 3.73s are THE choice of those guys, and 4.10s are too steep.
For normal cruising with a 6 speed the 3.45s are fine. For drag race with an auto then 3.54s are equivalent to 4.10 with a 6 spd, as steep as you want to go. For spirited highway driving with an auto the 3.07s are better than stock ,but worth it?
You really have to define your driving pleasure to choose other gears.

Auto, I'd go with anywhere from 3.45-3.55. Manual, a 3.73 should do it.
You'll have to reprogram your ECM, so that your speedometer reads correctly. From the forum that's $289.00. Mid America sells the 3.55 automatic rear end for $1,599.00 with a $300.00 core refund. Ecklers sells a 3.54 for $1,095.00 and an $800.00 core charge.

I have a 94 A4 with 2.59s and I'm really leaning towards 3.07s at the moment. I took a trip to Vegas a few weeks ago and I think 3.54s would have been to steep for me.
Here's my thoughts .. if you're going to do almost all in town driving I'd get 3.54s If you plan on alot of freeway driving I'd go with 3.07s
jmo and I know many won't agree with it :chevy
And if I knew where to get it done for a good price I would have already done it :D

LT1 auto trans: 3.73 if you like a fast car, 3.54 if you're looking to have buyer's remorse.
L1/4 manual trans: 4.10 if you like a fast car, 3.73 if you're looking to have buyer's remorse.

For competition ~ get 3.73 or 3.54 for auto & 4.10 for 6 spd
For touring/interstate ~ get 3.07 or 3.31 (if you can find em) for auto
