Help-1996 LT-4 hood release broken
My son has a (C4)1996 LT-4 with a broken hood release and dead battery, I have a (C3)1976 thus I belong in a different forum. Ahh, 20 years, what a difference in Vettes. They get better every year. He however, has not been able to figure out how to get the hood release to release. He says the cable has broken and there's no way to release from up underneath the vehicle. Has anyone suffered this problem and what is the best way to solve it? Would appreciate any assistance anyone can give.

Yes Mid america sells a tool for this. I got it for an 84 I had that was prone to sticking. It works great, once you figure it out.

Gordon Killebrew makes the only hood opening tool that I know of. Mid america and others sell it. You can contact Gordon via his web site for a tool if you want. The tool is a piece of rod about 1/8 inch and 18" long. About 2" are bent 90 degrees down on the end and the other end has about 4" bent up 90 degrees. You reach in under the the hood at the door and pull the latch. Get one and keep it in your car! :smash: P.S. If you attend one of his classes with your car, He'll give you one!! :yesnod:
