Capacitor for Bose Amp - Anyone know electronics?
I've read through the Tech Tip for replacing the two large capacitors on the Bose amps that are usually the trouble makers. https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...D=58&TopicID=2
The part number is says to use isn't available from Radio Shack online or in any local stores.
The part it calls for is a 1000uF, 16 WVDC, Electrolytic Capacitor, radial leads.
While not exact will this work? 1000µF 35V 20% Radial-lead Electrolytic Capacitor
I don't have much of a clue about electronics so any help would be great.
Thanks
-Mike

Re: Capacitor for Bose Amp - Anyone know electronics? (Mike in Boston)
Yes, the important value is the capacitance, the 1000uF. The higher voltage rating is even better. Electrolytic capicators do go bad with age. They are one of the few "electronic" parts that do so. All others fail from heat.
Good Luck, I hope it works for you.

Hey thanks Dennis. I'll pick them up this weekend and hopefully my rear speakers will stop the screeeetching and thud-thud-thuding.
