C4 0-60 in 5 seconds
If u remember my previous post about not being able to light up the rear tires on my 87 Roadster http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=578730
Well I timed the performance 0-60 & got 6 sec, just 1 run +/- .5 sec for error
Then I pulled the uh, uh, ............cough ........... cough ford/motorcraft plugs out
Put in some platinum Bosch, Accel cap & rotor did the same 0 - 60 run and came up with................................... 5 sec +/- .5 sec for error
The car also gave a chirp at the start of this run.
The one thing I notice about its performance now is: the power comes on like it has a cam in it, I mean u can feel a surge of power at about 2700 that builds to about ?k (5k + at least). I remember my last vette being strong in the lower end & running out of breath by 4500. So, is it at its stock best? Even tho the car is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more dangerous when its capable of spinning the tires, I have a need for smoke. Any more ideas?
45k miles on engine
gets 21 mpg in mixture of 25% very very brisk accelerations, 25% normal city, & 50% freeway to work :(
new plugs, cap, rotor, air filter, the 2 maf/? relays
gets 40#s fuel pressure at idle
throttle bore/plates cleaned
timing set at 5 degrees per factory
seems to run better when cold & in open loop
thanks
bill (quick but still smokeless  )

I would check fuel pressure under WOT. Tape the guage to your windshield and go for a ride. The reason I say this is, a friend of mine had a 88 that never could spin the tires (automatic). He owned it for 3 years and never could get the backend lose. Then his fuelpump went out. When he picked his car up from the shop it was able to smoke'm down. The only thing they did was a new fuel pump. After hearing him rave about new found power, all I can think of is getting mine checked out.Don't forget a new fuelfilter.
GOOD LUCK! :chevy :chevy :chevy

I remember seeing 0-60 in 4.8ish for an LT1 once from a magazine.
Also I changed the plugs in my LT1 2 weeks ago. And immediatly n oticed a HUGE difference. Felt like 50 some hp being released that was pent up. lol.
The old plugs were majorly outgapped.

If I use the formula from prestage.com, my '95 does 0-60 in 4.1
