What is the BEST power steering fluid to use in 86 Vette? Any difference?
I want to use the turkey baster meathod of removing old power steering fluid & adding new fluid. Anyone have some opinions on what/if anything is better to use?

I used the baster method on my 88 and ex 85 and put in full synthetic RedLIne. Helped quiet them down after using the steering a lot. No leaks before or after. Just remember not to put the baster back in the kitchen. It makes the turkey taste strange but it went down easier :)
Valvaline does not make a full synthetic PS fluid. It is a blend with about 20% synthetic in it. Red Line is 100% synthetic- sold at Pep Boys I believe.
I think I heard that Red Line should not be used in 94 and up. Anyone confirm this? I think I will use the "GM Cold Climate" in the 95 even though it is a blend also.

Ok, I went w/the Valvoline Synthetic blend. I sucked out the old power steering fluid w/a turkey baster & refilled w/new fluid. Does the fact that I didn't change ALL of the fluid make a difference? Should I drive it awhile & suck out again & add more Valvoline? Why is the Valvoline fluid clear? Just curious why they didn't go w/the standard power steering color.

Yes, did mine 3 times, and the methoud told to me was (1) after putting in new fluid, jackup front end, and turn wheels full Lf-Rt 20+ times, then drive it for a day, (2) replace fluid and do the same... after the 3rd time, my 'morning sickness ' was gone and felt good...

If you do the brakes.....bleed - bleed - bleed til the new fluid runs clear or it dosent make a difference because there is no circulation in the brakes as there is in the PS system.
