Early C4 16" Custom Wheels
Anyone running 16-inch custom wheels? I would like to keep my R16 tires on my 1986, but I have yet to identify a 16” chrome or polished custom wheel that is compatible (plenty of 17” or 18”)...different dealers are a bit inconsistent with the inquiry....
Anyone using or know of a 16” qualifying wheel?
Mahalo in advance,
Dano

Re: Early C4 16" Custom Wheels (Dano01)
When I bought my '86 it came with an additional set of 16x8.5" Eagle Alloys. Nice wheels but I changed back to the stock wheels. I think I have a picture with them on the vette ... somewhere. I'll try to send it to ya.

Our white '87 conv has a set of 16 inch BBS wheels on it that were installed in 1988. These were very popular in the late eighties and I think they are still available thru Discount Tire. I needed a new center cap assembly a few months ago and they had it for me promptly. The price in 1988 was about $625 per wheel plus installation, etc. I liked them when I first saw them and still like them...maybe because they are kinda of unusual now since most seem to prefer ZR-1 type spokes, etc. :chevy

I'm running 16" RIKEN wheels. I took the center cap (that stuck out about 3 inches) and sawed off most of it and glued on 84 center caps.

I've got some 16" custom wheels. American Racing Teron wheels. Same offset as stock and look sharp! Only polishing I have to do is with a bottle of windex and a paper towel. You can view them by going to http://www.americanracing.com and doing a search for the teron wheel.
