I was there from Thurs to Sun am. Weather was perfect, but I didn't like how access to the corvette corral was limited, seemed snobbish.

yup. I had the same problem... here is what happened:

after the corral flooded last year, someone, I am not sure who, decided to move it to the turn one club.

The next nail in its coffin was the last minute pull out of Ecklers. they backed out of sponsoring the corral like 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Which means... the C5 registry handled it... and they seem to do a good job of informing Florida C5 owners first... and foremost.

A real pain in the ****. I was not impressed. I was hoping to contact several forum members sunday, but alas, no luck... and no turn 1 sticker. :banghead:

Very true. I didn't like that either. Hell I had a full access media pass and I couldn't get in. I could have taken photos in the pits (if I had a fire suit), but I couldn't get into the corvette corral. What a bunch of crap.

Say, did you see the sebringfans.com banner truck? What did you think?

I must have missed it, but i wasn't looking for it though. I did see a truck in the corvette corral with a banner on it, but it was parked right next to their tent and the view was blocked. The old corral area seemed to be taken over by the Audis and Porsches (the Audi area was much smaller in the past years). My car was in the corral last year and it was fine, but I did see other cars with weed lines just below the doors that were in the lower areas, but that was a intense storm, the Porsche area had a scaffold fall and hit 2 or 3 cars there. The whole place got flooded, we had to hold our industrial canopy from flying away and the rain was going horizontal! I think the Eckler's deal being pulled may have had something to do with MAD having a large presence in the paddock and the Porsche corral with that wicked silver beast with 650 hp and wide body...

That is awesome that you were able to attend. I tried to watch most of it on tv, it was nice to see a Vette roll across the line fist in it's class.

I am surprised that know one has chastised you about this post having nothing to do with C4's like my pole on racing, hopefully they wont. :cheers:

Good point and I didn't even think about the fact that this nothing to do with C4's. But I hang out here so I figured I would share the Corvette news with my fellow C4 members. I hope ya'll have enjoyed the pics. Maybe I should go bother the C5 folks too. :D

The C5 folks are digging it as well. I try not to be a post horse and post the same thing in alot of forums, but I know alot us just stick to a couple of forums. I'll probably hit up the autocross forum as well.
