Optispark vs HEI
Somebody enlighten me. What is the advantage if any of the optispark vs the HEI system. I've had that HEI in my street car, street rod, and the Mallory HEI system in a late model stock car. The HEI never failed in street or racing use. Is the LT1 engine configuration not able to accept the HEI or is the optispark just an upgrade that I don't understand. I have a 92 vette now. Thanks

Re: Optispark vs HEI (oldtimer)
Well, the opti was designed by GM to go 100,000 miles without having to be being serviced. Just like the water pump was. But we all know you will be lucky to ahve them last past 70,000 miles.
