Default H.I.D. lights for C4s?

anybody make a conversion? i know that they make conversions for just about every other kind of car out there but it seems many times C4s get overlooked in aftermarket stuff from time to time.

Sylvania had one, but last I heard they weren't allowed to sell them anymore. I know there is a bill trying to be passed about non factory headlights being outlawed, but I don't know the status of it.

The Sylvania Silverstars are suppose to be better. And there is http://www.madvet.com/shop?frame=1.249.823

Also, http://www.breathlessperformance.com has a non-pop up light system, but I don't know if they are brighter then stock.

Gary, I think you are mistaken for HID look alikes. H.I.D. stands for High intensity discharge. Most of the headlight replacements you see including sliverstars are just inmitations for HIDs. HID head lamps require their own transformer and the brightness is as close to day light as you can get for an automobile headlight. There is no way to put HIDs on a C4 because the way the headlight rotates, the only way you can do so is if you change it to a fixed lighting system or replace the fog lights with HIDs.

Thanks for the schoolin. Guess I should of made it more clear these are just an upgraded bulb, not an HID.

you can upgrade your driving lights for about $15, you just change the bulbs and the fuse....i belive it is an upgrade from 33 watts to 50 watts each, best upgrade I have done

That's on the older C4's, supposedly the newer ones already have them, and they aren't that much brighter. I forget what the breakdown of the years are, but Lars has a tech tip up about upgrading the fog lights.

I have seen HID kits for the Vette. The rotation doesnt matter. The transformer is fixed. Only the plug has to rotate.

I believe you are mistaken because there are some forum members with them installed Xenarc DDLT5 has them on his car

Is it true that the HID imitation bulbs tend to burn out quickly?

Check Corvette Fever, November 2003 issue. They installed Sylvania Xenarc HID bulbs/transformer in a C4 with very little modification.

I have a 1996 and did the conversion about five months ago. I leave my
house when it is still dark every morning and this MOD is the best thing I
have done to my vette so far. These lights (purchased on E BAY) light up
the entire road for over 200 yards. The MOD took about an hour for both.

Elefkow, which lights did you buy? I've seen some reports of eBay bulbs that did not focus the light properly and were actually worse than the stock units.
