Default How do I stop rattling sunvisor mirrors? 93 vert

The rattling sunvisors really cut back on the enjoyment of driving my car.

How car I stop these sunvisor mirrors from rattling? I tried removing the plastic cover to no avail - something inside it is rattling.

Should I just remove the sunvisors?

Does anyone know where I can get cheap mirror-less sunvisors?

Any help would be appreciated

Dave

I don't have this problem luckily. BUT, my buddy did and he just took out the visors! He was very happy!

Well, that is one answer.

Does the rattle come from the mirror lid or internal?

Ive got the same thing but only the passenger side, and there new.
On mine its just the lid thats part of the reason I bought some new ones, the old ones were a bit worn and had the floopy ears

I've got the same problem! If any one has a solution other than removing the visors, I'd like to hear it.

Hmmm I just replaced both of mine with new one's too. Floppy ear syndrome and just plain faded. New one's are nice.

Somebody posted recently about a place you can send to get them rebuilt for I think it was $40.

p.s. This is assuming the problem isn't with the mirror assembly itself. I don't have any rattling, so I don't know what's causing it.

p.p.s. How can you hear sunvisor rattling over all the other rattling, squeaking, groaning the car does? Maybe you need a louder exhaust.

I had the same problem in my 87. The rattle was coming from the little plastic "door" on the mirror. Ya know how I solved it?? Really a simple sort of dumb idea but it works, I took a small peice of paper towel and folded it in half and placed it in between the mirror and the "door" and closed it. Problem solved!!! Just make sure you don't make the towel too thick as to cause the mirror lamp to go on, worked ok with my rattle. Hope this helps.....Oh by the way...I dont use my mirrors anyway because I'm just too damn good lookin"!!!!!!
