Default Best bang for the buck mods.

What are the best bang for the buck mods for a 94 LT1 6 speed? Not really looking for anything exotic, just some simple-semi simple stuff. What has worked well for you guys? Keep in mind i'm old school, this new higher tech stuff is new to me.

Thanks, Tim

gears gears gears.... for you 4.10's would be the way to go. On the buttdyno that's the best mod. It will also cut about 1 sec from your 1/4 times.

Default Get The 4.10's

With 4.10 gears my M6 Vette is turning 1800rpms @70mph. Also with 358 rwhp/4.10's, I'm still getting 26-28mpg on the highway.

Cool, i can live with that. Do any of the cat back exhaust systems add much power? To make it really work would i need to change out the entire system, headers and such? Who has gears for me?

Sure...they all add a little - some just more than others. What most people go for here, though, is the *sound* they're looking for. The exhuast, in combination with their other mods, will add the power later.

Do the muffler eliminators add any performance or just sound?

Just sound. The LT1 mufflers don't add much back pressure - it's found in the headers, cats, and resonator.

I imagine this is in 6th gear right? Not to bad. Something to seriously think about.

I've got Borlas, K&N air filter, and KYB gas adjust shocks. I consider that a good low budget start.

Good luck

Definitely...I think so many overlook inexpensive suspension upgrades, yet they can really improve the overall behavior of the car. I know, I know...it *is* very easy to get into the "More HP!" mode when modding (heck - my sig is proof...I just wanted to stay "pretty much stock"), but suspension/brakes can pay dividends on the street and track if set up properly.
