1995 center console
good morning. bought my first corvette 4 weeks ago! 1995 dark red metallic 6 speed with 30,000 miles. just one private owner who really took exceptional care of it. almost mint condition inside and out. so far, no problems at all. wanted one since i was 12 and now 32 years later it happened! one question? the center console has a black matted finish over it, but this paint seems to have a wear mark on it and under it is the shiny plastic by the arm rest button. the top finish seems to be lifting by the wear mark. it this just the way it is and i'll live with it? other than that.... beautiful car... for the first couple of days i just like to hear the engine start up. by the way, i paid 17,200.00. it did seem 1500.00 more than everyone thinks... but what can i say? the pleasure was worth it!! thanks to you all for your input!

That dull rubberized coating is called Dulso.
If you look at the tech tips, there is a write up on refinishing the shifter console plate.
Some guys have even stripped it off and painted them body color.

Mine had a small spot that was peeling too. Fortunately, the guys doing my stereo install cracked it when removing it, so they bought a brand new one for me...
I ordered it from Superior Chevrolet - It was around $125 if my memory is correct.
