How do you remove the hush panel on the driver's side? I want to install a VATS bypass unit and I have to access the VATS plug on the steering colum.

Don't know about 1988, but in the later C4's(1990-96) there are two screws on the side and roughly three or four along the bottom edge, then discoonect the light and ALDL.

Thanks MoJo. I tried to get the passenger's side off last year when I was trying to get at the Bose relay and couldn't get the thing off. I couldn't find what it was that was preventing me from getting it off. One screw/bolt or ?? I couldn't find it.

My VATS has locked me up for the LAST time! Second time in as many weeks that I've had to walk 2 miles to get home. Waiting up to 30 minutes so I can try a restart didn't work nor did disconnection of the battery reset the system.

Now as soon as Mid America/UPS get my bypass mod. to me my locked up problems will be over.
