I don't have a "horse in the race" but where are the prices coming from? It appears to me maybe "Sparky" responded in error to a post that he was trying to quote a Bose part for. Dr Dons doesn't do AC and the rest have based the pricing off of the first response. If you've a trashed compressor hanging around I'd think it a bit more reasonably priced. Maybe Sparky has quoted correctly. I don't know but I don't believe so.
6 month warranty and California "not used much"!
I don't believe I've got one but I'm looking. What happened to the "help someone and maybe it might come back to you"?
OP - Where are you located?
I've located complete salvage compressors for less than $100. Any salvage yard with a '92 - '93 "poked in the nose" has likely taken out the clutch/coil/pulley anyway and if the manifold was good I'd think it "inexpensive". I believe you were needing other parts also anyway - shop!

My price was for compressor and all, basically everything a/c under the hood. Hope that clears things up some. A/C worked fine, car now just used on the track and I'm shedding some pounds. I'll be making a list of available parts after this week.

Post #2 is your solution unless you'd just like to wait out a less expensive option. The year is important, '92 preferred but I believe '93 will do also.
