Is this factory or aftermarket?

Dors it fit perfectly in the dash or does it stick out a little bit?

I didn't know there was a CD radio available.

My 89 has a Casette radio.

How difficult is it to remove mine and install yours?

Why did you remove it?

Is it working perfectly?

Where are you located?

I'm in Northern Illinois

Thanks,

Jack

I don't think mine had this radio from the factory my code also said tape deck, but I think this is from a camaro or something wires all match.

To remove yours is simple there are 3 trim screws on the left side when you open the door and a few screws across the top of the instrument cluster and then 2 kind of in the middle and then 2 on the other side of the vents, pull the trim off and then there are 2 bolts that hold the radio in. Pull the old radio out and unplug the wires then plug all the wires in to my radio and put the 2 bolts back in and put trip parts back on.

With the bose system I had 2 amps that were connected to the speakers were bad and instead of getting them fixed I just put a whole new system in.

Yes it worked perfect

I am in Plymouth, Wis and that is about 1 hour north of Milwaukee.

Should fit in and work fine with just exchanging mounts and adding appropriate harness. Must have a Bose system. It's not a corvette OEM radio though.

I'm interested but assume it was for another year C-4.

I have original Brochure for my 1989 and it only shows the Cassette Radio and doesn't offer an option for a CD radio.

Where are you located?

Im in the north suburbs of Chicago. 60047

Sorry I didn't see your other answers. Too bad I'm not going to be in Elkhart Lake soon. Ha. I usually stay at the Plymouth inn.

I guess it should work in my car but I would like to talk to a installer that I can't contact till Monday. I also have to think whether I want to change from the correct original radio. My 1989 is all original and only has 4,000 miles on it.
I may get docked if it isn't all original in Shows.

Ill get back to you Monday

Thanks, Jack

Ok sounds good, if you need anything more, like pictures of the plugs or any thing just ask.

OK Thanks again.

Do you ever get down to Milwaukee?

I could come up and meet you there if we make a deal.

I just drove my Vette up your way last week to attend the Corvette Adventure at The Dells.

Have you ever attended that?

CD was not factory for Corvette in '89 but was for other GM cars. The swap out from another GM car was known at the time as a plug and play interchange. It was a way to keep the factory look and function yet play CD's. Very cool upgrade for the era. George

Thanks for waiting for me.

It says Delco on the radio. Does it say Bose somewhere else?

Do you have the manual for the radio?

I spoke to my car audio guy and he said it is possible this radio blew your Bose Amps because output level may be too high.

Were your amps working before you installed it?

Do you still have the Amps that you removed?

He also told me to ask you if the mounting ears are correct. if not I guess i could put the ones on from my radio.

Please give me your response to these questions.

I guess I am willing to take a chance and buy it depending upon your answers so lets talk about how you want me to pay for it and how to get it to me.

I could drive up to Milwaukee.

I could also do Pay Pal .

I just bought the car last fall, I didn't put the radio in, the mounting ears are correct for the corvette. It does not say bose on it, but if it wasn't it wouldn't play with with the bose speakers. I have the amps but they are all in the speaker boxes that came from the factory.

I think the best and easiest way is that I can ship it to you and you pay with paypal that way we don't have to make special trips. I will PM you my info.

If you would want the amps I would sell them to you but then I have to take apart the speaker boxes and take the amps out. I think only one of them was bad. Just looking at past threads people were getting around $30 a piece for them.
