ZR1 Corvette "TransAm" Wheels in Watkins Glen
SOLD - pending payment . . .
Original set of four ZR1 TransAm wheels. Black, 9.5” x 17” with a 6.725” backspace, 5 on 120 (standard!) bolt pattern. They come with (what I believe are) ZR1 center caps and lugnut covers.
These are the genuine article, manufactured by AFS here in America. (Remember those days?) High-grade cast aluminum.
They are structurally perfect, but certainly not concours, with some clear-coat missing here and there, and some surface marks around the outer diameter from tire mounting/dismounting.
Racing applications? Because of their width, diameter, weight, and inside caliper clearance, they are ideal for mounting rain tires. We used them for that on our #75 IT-E racer. More recently, they served as paddock wheels, loading and unloading, and traveling in the transporter (narrower wheel = more clearence).
Currently shod with well-used Goodyear 275/40-17 high-speed radials. We would prefer NOT to ship. Pick them up in Watkins Glen for $300 or best offer. We would like them out of the shop soon. Phone Ed - 585-865-3969
If they are still here by October, we will consider shipping.

Ciao, Signore Gianni,
Thank you for your interest in the nice set of wheels/tires we have for sale. Since no one else is clamoring to have us hold onto these until they get to The Glen, and since we could really use the space where they are stored, YES - we will ship them. But - - - - -
The potential problem is that we are 1000 miles away from each other, and neither UPS nor FedEx covers that distance for free. So, I'll provide the critical dimensions, and you (and anyone) can check your shipping costs from Zip 14891, and then decide.
OPTION I: Ship wheels with Goodyear tires mounted: 26" x 26" x 12" and ~ 45 pounds each.
OPTION II: Strip tires from wheels, and ship wheels only: 18" x 18" x 11" and ~ 26 pounds each. This will cost us an additional $10 each tire for removal, plus New York State charges a $5 each used tire discard fee.
Note that for bulkier items like this, we have found more favorable rates in the past using Greyhound Express (yes, the bus company!)
Another alternative is to ask any of your racing friends who are coming to The Glen to pick them up and bring them back for you. Unfortunately, the big SCCA Majors (national) has already occurred, as has the Porsche Club Clash (national). If anyone is coming for the Indy Car race here, that might be another possibility.
You are first in line for these, so please let us know how you would like to proceed.
Grazie,
LoPresti

Mi devi scusare.
The shipping cost is outrageous. Would love to take them off your hands but after shipping costs and having them powder coated I would probably be better off going with new ones.
Sorry.

Ho capito . . . non c'e problema.
Shipping has become an absolute deal-killer (in case anyone has not noticed). Just one more reason why we are hoping someone can pick these up from us at Watkins Glen.
