I am looking to buy a Neutral Safety Switch part number GM 14047136. The switch in my 85 failed. It has been bypassed but would like it in place.

What are you actually looking for? Your part # is the "clutch operated at the pedal" on an '84 - '86. This would only be for a MT 4+3 car. '87 and later is different. You didn't mention A4 or MT so your "THREAD TITLE" is maybe confusing to many.

I have an 85 MT 4+3, I need the clutch safety switch behind the clutch pedal.

There is a used one on eBay but it's $135 (ouch). Have you checked with some of the corvette salvage companies like Mirrock Corvette or Contemporary Corvette?

I did see that one and I might have to bite the bullet! I am waiting to see if someone parts out an 84 or 85. I will contact the salvage yards.

posted earlier , can go this route if you cant find one only difference is connectors . this was tested and in working condition.
