LT4 Valve train..rockers, springs, pushrods, studs, cam / LT1 to LT4 conversion
These are from my LT4. They have 31K miles on them, mostly highway, so all are in good shape. I believe they are the same as would come with a hot cam conversion, so they could be used for an LT1 to LT4 and all you would need extra would be the hot cam. Or it seems like the whole package would also work to upgrade an LT1 auto using the stock LT4 cam. Along with a mild head job that ought to make someone a sweet package.
Any offers????

Re: LT4 Valve train..rockers, springs, pushrods, studs, cam / LT1 to LT4 conversion (LT4BUD)
I got your email and I'm VERY interested! What would you want for everything? All this including the cam would drop straight into my LT-1 wouldn't it?

Re: LT4 Valve train..rockers, springs, pushrods, studs, cam / LT1 to LT4 conversion (ToyC4)
To the best of knowledge it would drop straight in. I also believe the stock LT4 parts are the same ones that come with the Hotcam kit, except cam of course.
To be perfectly honest, I am 95% sure , not 100% sure.
Maybe some one can confirm it to the 100% level.
As a reference the Hotcam kit is $509.95 and the Hotcam only is $209.95, both plus shipping at Summit. So if we go 50% of new price it would be about $255 for everything or $150 for everthing less the cam. Actually since it is LT4 cam not hot cam lets say $200 for everything. Plus shipping.
I need to sell, so lets work this out.

Re: LT4 Valve train..rockers, springs, pushrods, studs, cam / LT1 to LT4 conversion (ToyC4)
ToyC4: your profile says that you car is a 92 if this is the case an lt-4 cam will not work with you motor. they changed the cam design in 95 along with the timing chain and timing chain cover, when they did away with the old style opti-spark. you could use the cam out of an l-98 because those designs are the same. the good news is that every thing elese, rockers, springs, pushrods, stud, will drop in just fine. you should see about a 15hp increase with just the rockers.
if you do decide to do this you should probably think about replacing your valve seals while you have your spring off because the 92's a known for valve seals.hope this helps.

What would you want for the roller rockers alone?

vicctor,
you will need the studs because the lt-4 RR use a 10mm stud which is larger than the sock stud on an lt-1. it would be also a good idea to use the springs because if you move up to a 1.6 ratio the stock springs will be close to coil bind.

Re: (comp94)
I have the studs available as part of the package. So no problem here.
I am still a little confused on the interchangeability of the cams. It seems like CompCams lists the same cam p/n for all LT1's & LT4. Also the GM hot cam kit has one part no for 92-97 LT1's.
Rocker arms only would give more lift from changing ratio from 1.5 to 1.6. But I don't think I would do this without changing the springs.

That's affirmative I've got the M6 92 with 58k miles and I'm pulling the heads and having them ported/polished because I've got a blown head gasket. I think I'd like to buy all the hardware from you but the cam - thanks for the cam info :( everything else is compatible with my stock 92 heads right? What are these rockers 1.5 or 1.6??
thanks,
Joe

Re: (comp94)
The rockers are LT4 OEM which is 1.6:1 ratio.
comp94, thanks for the help. Seems like on the hotcam, they say to adjust the length of the pin?????depending on application. Can someone do the same to my lt4 cam on 92-94. So then is it true then my cam would be a drop in for a 95-97 LT1?

I'm just interested in the rockers but I understand not wanting to seperate.

ToyC4
Remember one possibility is to use all of my parts in conjunction with a hotcam.
Actually why stop with a hotcam????? There are many more aggressive cams available...and to confirm the LT4 cam would drop in after adjusting the pin length.
Victor Russell92
Are you still interested in the rockers only???? Like you said I hate to break up the springs from the rockers, but a bird in the hand is better than bird in bush....what would you be willing to pay??
Thanks

Re: (LT4BUD)
ok I changed my mind and I'm not touching my cam
still got hardware for heads? Where can I buy new valve seals and a good gasket kit for putting my engine back together? Is Felpro pretty good?
thanks,
Joe

Re: (tobijohn)
Everything is still available.....you can add timing chain & sprockets to the list.
The cam with minor adjstment to the drive pin will fit any LT1.
Far as I know I don't have any offers, or serious intent, on the table, couple people considering tho.
