Default "86 convertible='87 ECM???

My '86 convertible built June '86 numbered #60** so it was one of the last of that year's run. It has an ECM #1227165 The letters AANM are on it also. I bought an '86 memcal from GM for it. It works fine but it will not work with my Datamaster program. I had a Hypertech memcal that came with the car that their parts list shows as one for an '87 vette and it works fine and will communicate with Datamaster. It goes to 8192 baud, the '86 only does 160.

Andy Mattei has a Moates AutoProm emmulator. He said he had a '165 ECM setup and when he ran it with an '88 F body image it ran 8192 baud but when he tried AANM it would not read above 160.

What does AANM refer to, the chip or the ECM? Does my car use an '86 or '87 chip? Can I put an '87 program on my memcal?

Thanks

AANM is the .bin file on the PROM chip. 1986-1989 all used the same ECM...165.
I looked up AANM and it is indeed a 1986 Corvette .bin. And yes, you can use an 87 program..or any .bin file for 86-89 Corvette.

AANM is called the BCC, or Broadcast Code.
