Do I need to upgrade my Memcal
I getting ready to order tunercat and 6E defeintion file for my 86 auto. Can I reuse my stock 86 memcal or should I buy an 89 memcal? I read that the 89 memcal have different resistor network for the limp modes.
BTW I know that I need to bypass the cold start injector.

you could probably try it on the '86 memcal. I have heard of people running $6E code on a $32 memcal without problems. You can get one from Jeff Kopp for about $40 shipped if you do decide to get one.

ftp://ftp.diy-efi.org/incoming/89ARAP.bin
would probably be your best starting point. It is described as follows:
This is from an 89 Corvette memcal that I personally read.
Purchased April 2001.
