Default Can someone recommend some scan software for ODB1

Sorry for the newbie questions here, please forgive.

I got a ALDL cable for my 90 (ODB1) and tried the free WINALDL software that is out there but I cannot seem to get it to work right. I am thinking that because it does not list the 1227727 ECM, it does not know how to properly interpret the signals. I tried the diagnostics and see data coming across during the trouble shooting but it is not populating it in the tables at all.

Anyway, can someone recommend some free (better) or low cost software to run on the 1227727 ECM (90) that works for sure?

Thanks in advance...

Yes, actually I have a licensed version of TunerCat-RT that I use to program the Ostrich. I see screen prints on the web of it's capability to log, but on the copy I have, none of those menu items appear for some reason. I wonder if that part needs a separate license, or needs to be installed/activated in some special way. Or maybe those screen images are from a older version and the new version does not have it?

Thanks for that. It seems to connect to the ECM and see the headers for the 90, but no data ever shows up in the dash board or any other screen. Too bad, it looks really cool and would have been great.

Tried it with the resister, or just ALDL shorted, and normal and it sees starter headers but occassionaly a header it cannot recognize. I think the 89 ECM is different from the 90.

I have used the Moates ECM852 software for years. FREE!

http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...products_id=70

The only downside is that you must have a Windows 98 boot disk for it to run on newer laptops.
