Default 92 LT1 OBD1 change to OBD2 is recommendable?

Will the installation of an OBD2 on my 92 Corvette give any benefit?
If so, what year OBD2 will fit?
Is this a simple remove and install change?
Suggestions please

No
96/97
No.
The 94+ PCM's have completely different connectors , would require a later model engine harness or some serious cut and splice work

If you were really wanting to do anything you would stay OBDI and swap to the common 94/95 LT1 PCM to get a way from the problematic 92/93 ECM you have
Many OBDII owners convert back to OBDI if only for the cheaper tuning software and less sensors

I don't know of a "problem" with the 92/93 Y body or 93 F body pcms (same part by the way but different chip) other than they use a reprogrammable chip which requires both a chip burner and chip eraser, but once that is done you are good to go. 27C256 chips are about $15 for 10 on ebay.

Do a search.
Many have had non memcal related problems with the early LT1 # 16159278 /88999183 ECM ;loss of serial data (DTC 41 ) appears to be a reoccurring problem
The ECM long time unavailable new or rebuilt from GM http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...umber=88999183
and subject to some " marginal" rebuilds ( the only replacement option ) if posts on here are anything to go by.
