Default MAP sensor 1988 vette

A friend of mine stated he scanned his car with a code reader & came up with a bad MAP sensor. He did not remember the code number. I thought that the 88's & earlier did not use a map sensor. Any help appreciated.

It doesn't
Obviously he doesn't know his car
Maybe he is interpreting the code wrong as the same code # is used for both MAP and MAF faults

Maybe your friend meant MAT sensor and not MAP sensor... "Manifold Air Temperture" MAT is in the rear bottom of the plenum and shows up on scans....WW
