Default ALDL Connection Failure

Hi, I'm trying to datalog my 93 M6 for the first time and cannot seem to get the car to connect to the datamaster software. I have the Moates cables. When I run the ALDL test program from TTS's website it fails the test. I did also install the driver software from TTS's website. The ALDL test program picks up the cable in the com 3 port but then fails. I tried to use datamaster to see if it might work anyways but it would not even recognize anything being in any of the com ports. I have the Moates box set to the "open" setting as is instructed on Moates website. Any ideas why it is not working?

Are you using Windows 7 or older? Have you downloaded this driver?

Are you sure you're using a USB 2.0 port, because not all are 2.0.

I was using windows 7 and downloaded the driver from the very bottom of the downloads page here. Yes I made sure to use a USB 2.0 port. When it didn't work I also tried a USB 3.0 port but then even the tester didn't recognize it being plugged into the laptop.

Can you see the cable in the Windows Device Manager? That will tell you which port it's connected to and some information about the driver.

Sorry I forgot about this thread. The solution to the problem was I had to click the "disable ccm handshake" button. Sorry I forgot to update the thread. After doing this the cable and program worked perfectly.

I help a lot of people with tuning issues. Can you explain how this disabling is done please?

I cant pull it up without using up one of the last free trials I have left but there is a setting under one of the menus for "disable ccm handshake" and "disable digital data refresh" I checked both of those boxes and the car was able to communicate with the software.

Found where it is here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-1993-lt1.html

Its when you enter record mode under the options menu at the top. It seems to be a very common problem with 93's from my reading around.
