Default C4 to C5 Brake Conversion

Changed the front brakes on my 91 coupe last weekend. It had the small stock rotors on it, had a friend give me the rotors and calipers off his 2000 model when he upgraded to Wilwoods. (must be nice) So I put the 13" rotors and bigger calipers on mine. Had to get the bracket kit from Ed (of this forum), and some odds and ends from a local salvage yard. And a few hours later I was grinning ear to ear!! Made one heck of a difference. Did not change the rear brakes nor did I get the bias spring kit, yet. If you want to be able to stop with less effort and more confidence, this is the way to go..Thank you all for the info I got from this forum that made the conversion go so smooth!!

And If anyone else is going to do the same.. Take my word for it.. You want to get ahold of ED! He is a very knowledgable and nice person to deal with, and his bracket kit is exceptional in fit and finish... Hats off to you Eddie, couldnt have done it with out you, Bud!!!

I got my brackets from Ed as well. They were first quality. You can find Ed here on the forum, his user name is edsalinas. Good luck.

Default Wheels

Hey J Stingray, I was looking at the red vette in your avatar and noticed it had the stock saw blade wheels. Im pretty sure that the C5 calipers wont fit inside those wheels. Read that somewhere on these forums!

They'll fit the 17" sawblades, but only with 1/2" wheel spacers because the 8 blades/vains curve inward on the back side and hit the caliper...

The mod looks MUCH cooler with the ZR1/Grandsport 5-spokes!!!
