Default How many total wires connect to Starter/solenoid '86

I'm stumped... solonoid clicks.. starter will not crank. Batt conns good.. I'm concerned I've lost a wire. I have 2 wires going to solenoid only.

Anyone?

If it is like my starter there are 3 wires. Two go to one terminal and then one small wire goes to another terminal. The last one is kind of hard to see when its in the car.

The 2 heavy wires of course go to the large terminal and the thin wire goes to the small terminal.
good luck...

If the solenoid clicks and the battery cables and battery are good ,Time to repace the starter.

I had inadvertantly stuffed the heavy main wire up on top of the starter. Man, it took me almost an hour to find it. I was really tired from working on it all night... man what a mental block.

Thanks for your replies.

Man, your lucky you didn't have an early summer fireworks display when you hooked the battery up.

I was getting ready to suggest that you had forgotten the battery cable. Please don't ask how I knew this.

I had that when I rested the header on the starter at the exact same time my nephew bumped the negative battery cable back into place.

Midnight, the force is strong in you.
