Default How do you clear the codes on a 1986 ???

I believe that when I disconnect the timing connector to set my timing on a 1986 ( with AL heads ) it will put a code 42 in the computer. What do I have to do to clear the code from the computer, or should I just leave it ???

Some people disconnect the neg. battery lead for a minute or so but that kills the clock & radio presets.

Being lazy, I prefer to open the connector in the Orn wire near the battery pos. lead for a minute or so; this interrupts power to the ECM but does not effect power to the accessories.

Easiest way is to take the ECM fuse out for a minute

Thanks guys, I just figured the fuse idea after looking in the owners manual. It did ring a bell and I really didn't remember there was a removable fuse, I thout it was a breaker or a link.
