Default How do you test if a starter relay is bad?

The starter on my 85 won't turn with the key, it has to be jumped in the fuse box. I'm trying to eliminate what could be wrong in the chain and I am wondering how you check if a starter relay is good or not.

The only relay in the starter circuit is the start enable relay. You can jump the relay contacts and try a crank. Also, the starter solenoid power must go through the clutch safety switch (gear selector switch if automatic) which you can also jump and try a crank.

Ok, the relay has 4 wires on it. The purple wire that goes to the starter, a small green wire, then two heavier green and white wires. Which do I jump?
