OBDI and OBDII??? Newb question
My neighbor was over last night and brought a OTC Scan Tool over to check the codes on a 94 Buick I bought. I was amazed at all the info he could pull up. Mainly reading and diagnosing sensors that may bee at fault.
I have my 92 Coupe, which is OBDI, a 99 Durango, an 00 Expedition, and the 94 Buick(which is OBDII).
My question is, is there a program that works with OBDI and OBDII that if I bought 2 sets of cables would work with my laptop to test and trouble shoot the same things the OTC Genesys would do?
I would like to be able to do a little more than read codes, and sure cant justify $2000 for a Scan tool.
Basically, what I'm asking, is can I use my laptop as a scan tool, and use it for OBDI and II?
Thanks!

Price is definatly an issue, don't really want to spend that much just to play around and do an occasional diagnosis.
