l98 cooling fan relay wiring question
I have my engine back together, need to find out where the wire from the fan switch on the block hooks into the fan relay plug. a closeup picture or instructions would be greatly appreciated.... thanks!

The fan relays on my 85 are... on my inner drivers fender, rearward of the alternator, and one down on the firewall behind the battery. Or are you trying to find where it goes to the wiring harness?

Not positive on your 86 but on my 90 the temp switch in the block between the #6 and #8 sparkplug is just for the temp gauge. The CTS (coolant temp sensor) up front under the front of the throttle body near thermostat housing is the one that tells the ECM to ground the fan relays to activate the power from the fusible links to fan motors.
May be simular on 86 single fan setup but not I'm not sure.

I thought you had already seen my page, sorry.

In 1985, it's the green/white stripe wire on either relay. This is pin B... I recall they're molded into the relay plug. But then again, not all the pins are used on that plug. Check the photos on that link, you're answer is there.

ahh this is really what I needed, good work and thank you! So, if I want to use the fan switch that I installed in the block, I'll splice into the green/white wire?

I bought this big giant manual(was loose leaf) looks very much like your diagraom, only w/out the additional switch. I like the ide of the manual switch. On the '86 thereis almost a ledge in front of the gauges.... i.e. in front of the air vent driver's side. It wouldn't be invisible but not a bad place for a small switch
