c5 west front bumper- 84-90 upgrade 91-96
I could probably pick a front bumper made by c5 west to upgrade my 86 to the 91-96 front bumper.
I have seen negative reviews on c5 west for the c4 to c5 body upgrade and I think they were removed as a supporting vendor, so I am being cautious.
Any word on them for the 91-96 front bumper.

Melting Slicks
I would plan on lots of body work time on their parts. They seem to take longer to fit right then some other manufacturers. I do have some of their parts on my car, so I know first hand. Also they are NOT a supporting vendor anymore. Randy

I have no idea bout the 91-96 upgrade kit but the C5 kit finsh was not good. I would consider finding OEM take offs off e-bay and changing the body moldings. THe only advantage to the C5 west kit is they do make the updated bumpers with narrow moldings.

I see that for a lot of fiberglass bumpers... the extra body work.
Could you specify more b/c the only thing I think of when it comes to fitment is including shims and grinding portions of the fiberglass down. I think this is kind of odd b/c my urethane bumpers didn't have any shims.
If it is sanding for smooth surface for paint prep... I think I could handle that but I don't want to be in a situation where I am adding and removing material just to make it fit.

For the C5 kit the panels would not fit period without a lot of grinding and then filling and they where not smooth the way most body kits are. I spent at least 100 Hours getting that kit to fit correctly. I am not saying don't do it but you may wan't to look to another vendor. Now no mater what kit you get it will require some work but at the very least ther should be no exposed fiberglass showing through the gell coat out of the box and the panels should be close

I installed a zr1 wide body upgrade with ground effects kit from C5 west last year. I can't complain about the price but the fit and finish was not great. Mostly the misalignment of the seams, lack of brackets and supports. I still have not gotten the rear tunnel to fit right. That piece is going to take some serious rework. I can't compare to other kits as this was the first I had installed.
If you want a stock look, I would not go to a fiberglass front end. The stone chips to the rigid fiberglass trashed my new paint within a month. The stock flexible bumpers can't be beat for thier durability.

I would opt for a used one from www.comtemporarycorvette.com or another Vette recycler and change the trim. No experience with C5 West but have heard a lot of horror stories.
