Default Anyone using shocks that aren't yellow?

I'm in the market for shocks and just looking at other possibilities to set myself away from the crowd. I think Bilstein makes a great product I just was looking for something other than yellow.

Can shocks be coated (paint/chrome) does it hold up?
Anyone use a bellows kit on your shocks? Or does it look like :U

I want Edlebrock Performance IAS shocks. I've heard good things about them and they make them for our car. The outside is red so it will match my car better than yellow.

I have Edelbrock IAS shocks on mine. They are pretty good, had them on there for over a year now and so far no problems. And being red, they match my LT4 intake.

I installed the IAS shocks. Supposedly variable damping. Solid feel on highway, sudden lane changes happen precisely (my poly bushings also help with that). They firm up going into tight exit ramps, which is what you want.
On gentle bumps the ride is pretty smooth. The worst ride situation is when going over sections of pavement where chunks have come off, leaving holes about 1-2" deep. Then the suspension 'bangs'. So handling-wise, they're great. But I don't know if Bilsteins would be better. Ride-wise, they seem to be fine, for a vette, but it's hard to tell what they are like compared to a new vette with Delco or Bilstein shocks. I've seen nothing with the IAS's that gives me a loss of confidence handling-wise, and that's the important thing. And yes, they are red

I will soon have for sale my KYB's. they're fine for daily driving..but I want more SLOT CAR like handling..so I am going with Koni yellows. I think if the color bothers you that much, you can paint them.

How are those HAL's for regular street use? I need something mostly for street, but occasionally track.

So far excellent at both

They'll adjustable so you crank'em down for the street ( setting 3 )

Up for the track ( setting 8 )

really up for autocross ( setting 10 )

and OFF for drag racing ( setting zero ) :D

BTW they go up to 12!!

A set of KYBs came on the car, but those HALs look like the real deal, and the color matches ;).

My car currently has the Mid America Adjustable suspension. 4 shocks, compressor and release valve. It has 5 settings, changeable through air pressure.
I'm able to soften the suspension for track launches and stiffen it up for auto crossing. You may want to do some research and check these out if they're still available. BTW, they're white and red.

Do NOT attempt to chrome plate, powder coat, or otherwise subject a shock to high heat. that will kill it. Paint you can do.

I've heard that these shocks are real expensive. How much? Where's a good place to get them?

I guess I don't get it! Buying shocks on the basis of color?!! Lemme see...hey, BFG is making those ricer tires with the color matching tread stripes!

Carrera's come already chrome plated. Dunno if they have a fitment for a C4.
