Forgive my forgetfulness...question on clutch fluid
I'm pretty sure I use quality DOT3 brake fluid in my clutch reservoir but thought I would check here first. The res cap only says use DOT3 fluid and the brake fluid can says nothing about clutches. Please tell me again what to use. Thanks.

Straight from my http://www.alldata.com account for an '87 Clutch....
Hydraulic Clutch Fluid
GM P/N 12345347 or DOT 3 Brake Fluid
(I would assume DOT 4 is perfectly fine also.)

If you do a complete flush with brake fluid you can develop a squeak. That's why GM has a special fluid for the clutch. Topping up with brake fluid is fine.
At least early ZF slave's don't come with a bleeder from the factory. You have to use an EZ-out to pull the dang plug they put in there and replace with a bleeder. Also the bleeder (if exists) faces in such a manner as to make it kind of hard to access. Best bleeding is with injection from the slave to the Clutch master (if there is any air in there at all). Don't let it go dry!
Good Luck,
Pete

 :bb Woooops. Problem with having all pix and sigs turned off because I have netscape and it can't cope. Wonder if the squeak still applies to pre ZF systems?
