does gm hotcam have part#stamped on it?
i won a cam off of ebay and it is supposed to be a gm lt4 hotcam. the description was unclear so i called quickdrop[who is the seller] and he said it was in a melling box and gave me the part# on the box. i looked up the melling # and it said stock replacement for lt1. quick box contacted seller and he said it was a gm lt4 hotcam. how can i be sure its a gmlt4 hotcam and not a cheap knockoff or worse?by the way i have a 96 lt4. any help greatly appreciated.

caveat emptor.
I wish I knew... I am sure there is a number on it somewhere. Have them check it and have them post the number. If it is the LT4 hot cam, it can be cross ref'd at skoggins-dickey's site, more than likely.
if they can't find a number on it, and I am sure it does, cause GM puts numbers on just about everything it casts, I would have them keep it.

I've got one sitting on my workbench right now. Unfortunately I'm not at home and I will forget about it by the time I get home. Shoot me an e-mail in about 2 hours and I'll look it up for you.

It should have the last three digits of the part# stamped into the rear of it, if I remember correctly.
