Default TPI popping on decel, most common causes on modded car?

What are the most common causes for popping when you let off the throttle? First and foremost the car has long tube headers and a very free flowing exhaust downstream of that so that is part of it. Other than that though, what are the most common causes?

Too rich, too lean, too much timing, not enough timing?

L98 Block
Stock TPI intake
Trick Flow Kenny Dutweiller Heads
LT4 Hot Cam
1.6 Rockers
Long Tube Headers

The car runs fantastic with a basically stock computer chip, mostly due to the MAF I'm sure but it does seem to have excessive popping when letting off the throttle. Where is the best place to start?

Too Rich mix, either natively or ecm dumping extra fuel due to lean o2 signal, or exhaust related..

Air leak in the headers/exhaust will do it.
