Default exotic muscle

Exotic Muscle lists this big block headers and even a big block conversion as products on their price list... go to their website... I have bought things from them before and have had good experiances. Merle is a good guy.

But, I have never seen the headers or the conversion

Look for "block hugger" big block headers. I think they are made by Hooker but I'm not sure of the brand. A guy in Frederck MD put in a big block motor using block hugger headers.

All the accessory drive pulleys and brackets will be your headache.

I can`t belive all the "corvette experts" on this forum no one has any info on this topic. I can`t possibly be the only person to put a BB in a C4

There are quite a few BB C4s out there, it's not that rare anymore.

I used C3 Hedman headers on the 502 in my C4. They DO NOT just drop right in!!

I had to dimple two tubes on the drivers side to clear the steering linkage.

I notched the frame on the passenger side to clear one tube. If you were so inclined you could cut and weld the tube in question and not mess with the frame or take it to a header shop and have it modified.

ok. thank you very much for the info. A friend told me C3 headers would fit, He wasn`t to sure about "drop in" but didn`t know what all he had to do to them. dimpling a tube or 2 isn`t so bad. the fram part might be a pain.

Have a BBC in my C4 with custom headers. I think the '70 vette big block headers work with a little modification.

I used Marchperf.com for my front dress.

got a bbc ready to go in as soon as i get time, which won't be for another 2 months...had it mocked up on a spare crossmember...70 hedmans (not sure of mfr, they're unused but been on the wall for a long time) fit very nice on the pass side, but the left side has one tube that would need major rework.
i found a pair of oem cast iron that look like they were made for bbc/ c4 that i'm gonna use... c.i. never rust out, spark plugs & wires are painless, torque actually is better below 3k and little loss below 5k (thats why header mfr's dyno ads never show low rpm)...these came from a 70 chev pik-up IIRC, LH casting #3808878, RH 3884504 as best as i can read em.

just stuck the hedmans (?) in the f/s section

Just talked with Merle and it's about $1300 for a mild steel header for the BBC in a C4. But his has to have the car. Well worth it if you're close to him.
