Best buy and quality for a Air Pump Eliminator kit for 90 L98
Just as the title states, I need a sailor proof air pump eliminator kit fo ra 1990 L98 Vette. Quality and ease of install are important. And what parts can be taken off the engine once this kit is on, ie hoses, tubes etc. Thanks

Besides that reduction pulleys dont get you anywhere near 20 hp.

After that feasco, I ordered the very best I could get from Breathless Performance. They sent it, it took 9 days to get here. When it arrived, the billet pulley was crooked, and way off in machining, so I called, and sent it back. Then nothing for a while. So I called again, and asked if they recieved it. They said, yes, and that it was certainly bad, and wondered what I wanted to do. I had already told them to send me a new one. So now about 3 weeks have passed, and the "Violator" Bob Moss cost me a month. Then 2 weeks later here comes the item, it was black, the first one was polished. I was glad to have a working unit in my possesion. So I called, and told them to just credit my credit card for the difference. They never did... I say "the hell with it"... And there went my Corvette Summer... And $20 dollars in phone calls, and $20 in refundage...

We made one out of some 1" stainless angle and 3/8 stainless tubing for spacer, a 6rib idler pulley($12) and some grade8 boltsand a bronse bushsin ($8). It bolts up to the same place as the air pump to block/head and then one piece of stainless from the angle to the top bolt mount on the alternator. Heck I had my son(17) make most of it and then we set it up so we can still use the factory belt.

PS we have put 3 under rive pulleys on too!

I have a machine shop, can anyone give me dimensions? It would be great to buzz a couple out for the local Phoenix AZ Corvette owners. The parts are easy to come by (pulleys, bushings, metal). Help would be appreciated!!!

L98 Air Pump Elimination
I am going with headers without the air pipes on my 90' L98
I will eliminate what Steel Blue 91 suggests above
What is the pipe in the picture (below) with insulation on it (the one over the valve cover)?
Will this air pump eliminator from Mid America work on my 90'?
Instructions for installation of that air pump eliminator suggest "You may remove hose and piping, but be sure to leave check valves in place." What check valves?

That pipe covered in foil is your EGR feed tube.Older cars had the egr feed through the intake, this model has it coming from the exhaust into the intake. If you want to eliminate the egr system, you can, just have the prom re programmed to eliminate it.Then you can remove the egr ****.
You dont need to leave the check valves in place, you can take them off and put pipe caps on them to seal them. They are the large black fittings on top of the exhaust manifold air tubes. If you have headers and they have the air pipes, cap it off.If the headers dont have the air pipes, then dont worry about it.
You can buy the pipe caps at Lowes or any hardware store.

Marc programmed my chip for the 91' Z and I assume he could do the same for the 90' L98. I assume also that the chip is located in the same place as part of and under the ECM?
I am getting headers without EGR and without air tubes

Don't let Breathless hear you say that. I fabbed my own and answered a post a while back explaining how I did it and they were all over me in that thread for "copying" their design. I had never even seen their kit, just remembered what I had seen on other cars and made one up. I saw two or three different designs and just whipped up something that worked out of flat stock, tubing, and a pulley I bought off ebay.
