Default Headlight Fuse

I have a 92 coupe and the headlight motors work however the lights do not. Is the headlight fuse in the side fuse box or in the fuse box under the lower passenger plate? Any help and fuse number would be great.

Thanks in advance.

According to the manual , the headlamp motors are fuse 3 LH motor, fuse 4 RH motor , and fuse 6 (60 amp) for the exterior lighting. These fuses are in the maxi fuse block under the hood.

My manual shows a pic of 2 maxi fuse blocks near the battery. Its a 93 but I am guessing the 92 may be the same.

I looked in the Factory Service manual and cannot find the Maxi fuse. Do you have a page number?

Here is the page out of the 92 manual. I cannot see the underhood fuse block 2 in the image. Is this the same page you have?

Take the plastic cover off

There are a number of "fusable links" under the hood next to the battery. You can get to them by removing the body panel by the battery. This is where the headlights get their power from.

My pic is different. Your aux shows 6 fuses each. Mine show 8.
They must have changed from '92 to '93.

So does anyone know where the Headlight fuses are on a 92? I will check the fusible links as well.

TTT. I am still having the issue with the headlights and I need to drive the car at night this weekend. I currently have front turn signals, and driving lights. The clear sidemarkers and headlights are not coming on. Does anyone have a suggestion on where the fuse is located or an idea of where my problem might lie?

Ok. I cannot believe I still am trying to track this down. Tonight I decided to dedicate time to finding the problem. I pulled and checked all the fuses in the main and 2 AUX fuse block. Verified I have power to the switch both low and high beam wires. It seems like my problem is from the switch to the headlights. Does anyone know what could be stopping low and high beam power from reaching the fixtures?

Bad dimmer switch?? Other than that, fusible link "M" may be blown.

There is a diagnostic procedure for inoperative low and high beam headlamps in the FSM Book 2, 8A-100-2 and 3.

Check the ground points. While a bad ground is not common, it's always possible. You could attach a jumper wire from the ground wire on the socket to a known good ground.

I have actually ground both L and R front grounds directly to the battery to make sure they are ok. I have test wire running all over the place. I may look again at the fusible link M, however it should be ok because the fog lights work. This is a wierd one. Are there any other ideas?
