Default PCV valve question on 89

Hi guys and gals,
On my 89 my oil cover grommets seems to be seeping a bit so I thought I would change them. After a close look I've noticed that my PCV valve is installed on the driver side, and on the passenger side there is another hose going into the valve cover with a shorter connector which is unlike a PCV valve.
My question - what is the passenger side part and its function?
I completed a search but nothing points to these questions I have.
Appreciate it!
Jayman

Is there a vacuum flow picture stuck under your hood anywhere? On mine there is one on the side of the radiator. On my '88 the PVC is on the drivers side.

Yes there is actually. I'm mistaken the PCV is on the driver side. The 'thing' on the passenger side goes into the valve cover and is called CCV per the vacuum diagram on rad, only it is not a PCV valve.
What does this do and should it be replaced too?

This has been passed around a good bit. Should look something like this on the driverside radiator shroud.

CCV (crankcase ventilation) has to do with emissions.

Yes that is the same diagram that's on my rad. Does the CCV(air in) need to be changed as per GM service guidelines like the PCV does?

No, not to my knowledge. Just make sure the lines are clear. Test the vacuum at the PCV with the engine running, it should suck to your finger. With the engine off the PVC valve should rattle when shook.

No! It's just a straight thru hose.
