Default Digital dash temp vs scanner temp ??

I have run into a problem I can't sem to solve on my new 383.
the digital dash (89) reads aprox. 210 while my scanner reads aprox.175.
I have replaced the temp sensor and I came up with the same result.
I also applied preset resistance values as per the FSM to the green wire at the sensor and the dash was right on.
I also tested the ECT and it checks OK.
The thermostat is a 170 and the main fan comes on at about 180 (custom chip). The heads are AFR 195"s.
Any feedback is appreciated.

Just a thought but are you aware there are 2 temp sensors? One for the dash reading and another for the reading of the computer.

The dash temp readout comes from the temp sender in the right cylinder head between #6 and #8 plugs. The temp on your scanner is coming from the ECM which gets it's temp from resistance changes in the coolant temp sensor in the front of the intake manifold. You seem to know the locations of these from the post.

I had this condition on an 88 and had to replace the ECM to get the readings to agree.
