Default Edelbrock LT4 intake pics

Got my LT4 intake from Scoggin Dickey today. (Thanks for the quick shipment!) I took a few pics. The gasket it the 12367777 LT4 gasket. Looks like it will need a little more porting. Looks like a nice piece. Hopefully It will dropped off at Morgantini's for porting and back to put on before the first points Challenge race at E-Town

LT4 has a blockoff plate on the EGR port on the back.

Mine's supposed to be here tomorrow. Now I'll have two GM LT4's and one Edelbrock.

didnt Edelbrock make an LT1 intake several years ago, with longer runners (11.5 inch i think)?

IIRC, the runners were "rolled" under, similar to an LS1 style. from the top, it didnt look very different than the stock intake.

Thanks for the pictures of the manifold. I've got a case of the "I wants" pretty bad. I sure hope you share with us how it fits and runs.

Does Edelbrock advertise any claims for gains?

Mine arrived this morning too. I cannot believe how heavy this thing is compared to the stock one. Or at least to what I remember the stock one weighing.

this mod = no gain in performance. Its an lt4 manifold. with egr imo its a serious waste of a product.

The stock LT4 intake has provisions for EGR, it is simply blocked off with a bolt on plate.

I bought mine simply because I could not find a factory intake for less than $600 at the time. Since then I found one for $500 and bought it just so I could drive the car again. We'll see what this does for the prices of used LT4 intakes. The price and availability (now) are the main advantages for some folks.

This is really disappointing!!!! I thought Edelbrock said they were matched to -----7777 gasket Per your photos it looks like they were matched to the stock LT4 gasket....

How did they do on the inlet.....does it really matchup to 58mm???

So in addition the cost of a new intake, one should figure on the cost of port matching-----which I already did once on my stock manifold..

Like others will be waiting to hear your results..

Edit: Reviewed this and Edelbrock didn't say matched, they just stated this was the recommended gasket, (which I incorrectly interpreted as matched)

I remember this one! It was about 10-11 years ago and only made its way into their catalog. I did see one in person at a car show at the time. Edelbrock had one on display and it did look stock on the outside and had the "rolled" longer runners. Looked pretty weird. People seem to forget that this first attempt was actually a longer runner intake. It seems that when people mention the never released Edelbrock intake, they don't realize that it really was quite different inside, unlike the current new offerings. Would have been really neat to get a hold of one of those early attempts.

thge manifold is great for those who need an Lt4 manifold no doubt. Im not hating there. I just think for edelbrock to come out with a product like that.. they could have at least had a larger plenum or larger runners or longer runners (slightly), or a distributor hole in the back.... so many things... perhaps even small holes for nitrous kits... edelbrock needs to learn from what the ls guys have in the fast and other brand manifolds. How about a removeable top piece so porting can be done inside the main plenum.

edelbrock sucks the big one.

I'd been saying that for so long, I finally gave up. To my surprise, it does look better than I expected...it comes a lot closer than a stock LT4 intake to matching the *7777 gaskets (my stock was way off), and (as I said before) the hump around the injector area also looks a lot better than stock...I still wouldn't expect much (if any gains) without getting it matched 100% to the heads.

The inlet is 58mm. The picture is with a 58mm gasket, which you can see needs just a little touch up.

Like stated the factory intake also has EGR conections. I also thought it felt a bit heavier. Dave could you weight the factory one since mine is still on the car? I get 20pnd for the Edelbrock.

It is stated that it has .250 longer runners than stock. We'll see if it helps any or not at the track in a few weeks.

Well, I reckon its not that much heavier afterall. I got 17 lbs for the stocker without the valley pan baffle.
