Do you change it at all.. if so, when? Or just wait until it breaks?
I thought I have heard 60k miles... and I have also heard that you do not need to change it unless it breaks or slips a tooth.

I'm not sure about timing chains, but I think you're getting your 60K figure from timing BELTS found on smaller engines. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I only change mine when I do a major engine overhaul or modification (such as a cam swap). I agree with PEte K - only do it if your already going to have the timing cover removed for something..
176,000 miles... and counting (replaced timing set @ 134k - when the LT1 got stroked to 383 cid)

I had a SBC in my old van and it had 190,000 on the original engine.
Timing chains and sprockets may wear, but they rarely break and they virtually don't jump teeth.
You'll have a VERY tired engine before the timing chain needs replacing.
