Is Delphi a Reliable Brand?
I'm looking for a new fuel pump for my '85 and none of the stores around here carry an AC Delco one which is hard to believe. NAPA does have a Delphi fuel pump which is supposed to be just as good as OEM. Are these any good or should I just keep looking for an AC Delco?

Delphi makes, or used to make, the GM OEM ignition coils, and other GM electric stuff. Good chance the factory original pump is a Delphi. Actually, I think GM owned Delphi until around '99 or 2000.

Well I dont want to buy a Master brand fuel pump because the last one I bought was defective right out of the box. Master is the only brand that my local stores even carry now. I know the original was an AC Delco and thought that Delphi would be the same or similar.

GM used to own Delphi, and then later dumped it. They were one of GM's biggest part suppliers. I know theyre in a bankruptcy case now.
The original probably is a Delphi unit, like LR said.

GM started and ran a number of car part divisions, all called DELCO. GM sold off most of these divisions several years ago and the new owners called themselves DELPHI, and they make the exact same Delco parts only now they have their Delphi name on the boxes. If you like Delco parts, then you will also like Delphi parts.

Delphi has been having labor, management and QC problems, too. The quality of some of their parts (like Optis) has gone down the crapper real fast.

That Racetronics looks like a nice package. I installed a 255 Walbro. I had to modify the electrical connectors. The Walbro came with a new sock but not the rubber sound dampener. The old dampener was so old I threw it away. I can't hear my pump so I guess it may not be neccesary. The old rubber gas cover gasket needed to be replaced but was not included. I bought one from Eckler's. I should have bought the Racetronics package and saved some time.
