Default I Guess I Screwed Up...

I did a tune up today on my ’90 L98, cap, rotor, coil, module, plugs and wires. Now the tachometer does not work. What did I do wrong? I connected the tan wire to the distributor were it says tach, and the other to bat. The car started right up, and seems to run well.

Any ideas what I did wrong?

Thanks for your help,

Randy

Bad connection, jiggle it, reconnect it, scratch the corrosion off with a knife blade.

The tach wire is actually white, but they fade to a tan color, so I'm sure you hooked up the right one.

It also goes to a tach filter (cylinder shape) that is bolted to the backside of the passengerside head. The wire is fragile right here, make sure it didn't break off.

The wire on my tach filter broke as well. Came clean out. Maybe one day I will replace it, but for now, I am living with the "hum" in my speakers.
