Got my car aligned.
I finally decided to go and get my car aligned. It's been nearly 7 years of ownership and I never had the car aligned before.
I chose the Vette Brakes & Products (?) "Advanced Street" settings, which are...
Front
Toe: 0 "
Camber: .25 * neg.
Caster: 5 - 7 * pos.
Rear
Toe: 1/8" in
Camber: .50 * neg.
My alignment as it sat before the adjustment to the aforementioned specs were..
Front
Toe: 0.02 Left 0.10 Right
Camber: 0.3 Left 0.6 Right
Caster: 7.2 Left 6.4 Right
Rear
Toe: 0.05 neg Left 0.13 Right
Camber: 0.1 neg Left 0.3 Right
Now, I don't know if it's psychological or not, but the car does seem to track straighter and it handles better on corners too.
For those who aren't sure where they sit, I advise getting their alignment done.

is not just psychological.
Did the shop provide a print-out what what they actually achieved
to confirm how close they got to the VB&P specs?

I put the same alignment on mine when I got the car. After it was done, I could not believe the previous owner had driven the car the was it was aligned. Huge difference!

No, I got the printout of the previous specs and they didn't show me the current VB&P specs, but I had given them the specific values and assume they have them like that.

Quick question: How did you go about finding a good alignment shop? I've been meaning to do this to my own '89 since I bought it almost 10 years ago, but I haven't found a shop that I trust enough to do it (I do all the work to my car myself).
Thanks
Thanks

When I had mine done, I asked the guy if it was cool if I watched(from behind the rope) how he went about doing the alignment.
Just chatting with the guy and he "lowered his gaurd" as it were and I was able to go underneath the rack and see him dial in the right amount on the cams.
I had taken some white-out and then painted on a few degree values and reference marks onto the cams themselves and the cam holders for my future reference.
Also we made note of the shims up front and of their thickness values/location.
Afterwards on the test drive, I went to a 7-11 and brought the guys a 6 pack for being cool(I didn't have an appointment, it was a Friday afternoon and was heading out of town on a road trip the next day and they put my car on the rack right then).

alignment shops
look in the yellow pages, and any alignment shop that does frame straightening will be a good one.

also looking for shop
Been reading up on this and heard good things about Hunter http://www.gsp9700.com/pub/search/findgsp9700.cfm wheel balance.
If the shop has the straight track LFM they might have the computer aligner. Give them a call
