Default CA vs Remainder of states

did anyone ever figure out what is the difference between the CA programming, and the remainder of the country ?

Is it with EGR, or AIR, or fuel mapping ??

I'm especially interested in the memcal days.

I'm almost certain that there is no difference.

There are none. The only different part #'s I've encountered are from the aftermarket (Discounters) which have to certify certain emission parts for CA. As I recall, they have to show (and warrant) that the part does the same thing as the OEM design. I stick with www.acdelco.com when tracking things down - assuming the part is still in production.
