My radio kills the battery
The battery on my '92 coupe goes dead in about 2 days if the car is not used, the charging system works great and the battery is new.
I pinpointed the problem to the Bose Radio CD/Cassette player, I removed the fuse that powers the radio and the problem disappeared but....now no radio!!!the power antenna seem to work fine ...can someone help???
By the way, this jewel only has 10,000 miles on it, the SRF plate reads "2UHONEY" as it was a Christmas excuse to my wife (for a gift to myself).Ooops, there she goes ........R U Bragging about the Vette again?????

Re: My radio kills the battery (2UHONEY)
welcome aboard!!!
I guess it could be the radio... this sounds ****, but it is more than likely the clock circuit...
I would remove the radio and run some voltage tests on the harness. you might have something like an amp on one of the speakers that is drawing power...
there are several companies that will repair the Delco head units... http://www.unitedradio.com is one of the best options.

Re: My radio kills the battery (2UHONEY)
Even in storage your car battery is supplying power to the radio because you have an electronic clock. I suspect you have a weak or dying battery, possibly a dead cell, because under normal conditions your battery should not go dead in only two days. If I don't drive my car for one week, I will usually hook up my battery charger for a couple of hours to recharge the battery. It won't be dead in that period of time but I like to keep it fully charged so that the alternator doesn't have to overwork when I do start the engine.
